Liberation Of Andriivka: Ukrainian Armed Forces Take Control Of Strategic Road To Bakhmut

A soldier of the 3rd assault brigade told how the Russians were encircled in the village.

The battles for the village of Andriivka, Donetsk region, were complicated and long. This village was very important for the Russians due to its territorial location.

Andriivka is a springboard for the Ukrainian Armed Forces to advance to Bakhmut. Ukrainian military and political figure Maksym Zhoryn spoke about this on Telegram.

“First of all, Andriivka means complete control over the railway, which is the support line for further offensive. That is, it is a necessary springboard for further advancement, because the task of the Ukrainian forces in this direction is to encircle Bakhmut, and without Andriivka it is impossible to achieve this,” he wrote.

As the military man explained, the battles for this settlement were very difficult.

“The enemy constantly transferred reserves, because for them even the thought of losing Bakhmut is a nightmare. They killed so many of their personnel here it is impossible to explain it logically,” he added.

In addition, Zhoryn added that this is a great achievement for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

“Many did not believe that we were capable of performing this task. But the Third Assault Brigade coped with it, once again showing its strength. And first of all, this became possible thanks to our soldiers,” he said.
