US Analysts Comments On Putin’s Illustrative Meeting With Kadyrov

Russian dictator Vladimir Putin held an Illustrative meeting with Ramzan Kadyrov to show his support for the head of Chechnya.

The American Institute for the Study of War (ISW) writes about this.

American analysts note that Putin and Kadyrov met on September 28 amid speculation about the poor health of the Chechen leader. During the meeting, the Russian President highly appreciated the “successes” of the Kadyrovites at the front in Ukraine and praised him for the “absence of problems” in Chechnya.

“The meeting took place against the backdrop of a public backlash due to the video of the son of a Chechen leader beating a detainee for burning the Koran. It is a response to Kadyrov’s manifestations of loyalty to Putin after the Wagner Group uprising on June 24 and indicates Putin’s willingness to continue to support Kadirov,” ISW analysts said.

Rumors about Kadyrov’s illness: what is known

On September 15, GUR (Ukrainian Defence Intelligence) representative Andriy Yusov said that Ramzan Kadyrov’s illness had worsened. According to him, the head of Chechnya was in serious condition.

Subsequently, Kadyrov’s Telegram channel published a video in which he refutes the information about his health problems.

On September 18, Russian Presidential Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov said that the Kremlin does not have information about Kadyrov’s possible illness.

At the same time, Russian media have already begun to disseminate information about Kadyrov’s possible successors.

On September 28, Vladimir Putin and Ramzan Kadyrov held a meeting, during which the Chechen leader boasted about his supposed “successes” in the war in Ukraine.
