A military analyst commented on Putin's statement after his conversation with Trump.

Putin called his conversation with U.S. President Donald Trump on May 19 "meaningful, frank and very useful." He also expressed gratitude to the U.S. leader for the U.S. participation in the resumption of direct talks between Russia and Ukraine.

In the opinion of military analyst Yan Matveev, the conversation has no result, as the Russian side only seeks to drag out time, while the occupiers continue to advance on the battlefield.

"The conversation between Putin and Trump has no result. Cheap tricks to stall for time continue. While Putin is portraying negotiations, his army is trying to advance on Pokrovsk and Konstantinovka. And Trump is happy to believe Putin's deception", - stated in the message.
