The Main Lesson

Putin lost his mind back in 2008 when Russian Federation attacked Georgia.

It doesn't matter that the formal president of the Russian Federation at that time was Dmitry Medvedev. The truth is that at the same time the whole world went mad, which allowed Russian madmen to start a war. That's why the occupation of Crimea and part of Donbass in 2014, a full-scale invasion in 2022 became possible.

Trump repeats that the war would never have started under him. Only Putin can stop the war, but the US and EU are capable of creating such hellish conditions for the Kremlin that the RF will be forced to stop killing. To do this, it doesn't have to play along with mad whims about recognizing the occupation of Ukrainian territories or blocking Ukraine's membership in NATO, but instead invite Kiev into the Alliance, give it so many long-range weapons that it can destroy legitimate military targets on Russian territory, ban Russians from crossing the border with the EU, and include sanctions that will strangle the Russian economy right now.

But Trump's latest statement about mad Putin did none of this. I'm not talking about the European coalition of the resolute at all, because the bluff with "hell of sanctions if there is no cease-fire by Monday" has turned into another wave of unpunished Russian attacks. Now is the time of active communications of the authorities with Washington and European capitals, in daily mode to convey the consequences for the world, not only for Ukraine, impunity of Russia.

But the main lesson - we must rely more on our own strength and focus all the resources on it. 8 months ago, Zelensky in the Verkhovna Rada promised thousands of Ukrainian-made long-range missiles. It's time to show their action to the Russians. Ukrainians are very much waiting for mirror actions. Maybe then our partners will also become more resolute and willing to suppress the Kremlin monster now.
