MAZ Is Being Pushed Out Of The Russian Market

The company sold 1.7 times fewer new trucks than a year earlier

In May 2025, 266 new trucks of Minsk Automobile Plant were sold in the Russian market - 41%, or 1.7 times, less than in the same month of 2024 (451), according to the research of "ASM-holding" (RF), noted "Pozirk".

MAZ products last month took the 4th place in the list of the best-selling brands in this segment of the Russian car market, experts stated (in January, February and March it was 6th, April shared 5th-6th). The market share amounted to 7.1%.

The sales leaders in the reporting month were: Russian KamAZ - 1.191 (-34.3% to May 2024) and GAZ - 365 (-39%), as well as Chinese SITRAK - 347 (-72.5%).

For five months of 2025, the Belarusian company sold in the Russian market 1.402 trucks (2.329; -39.8%).

In the past year the Belarusian company sold 5.719 units of these vehicles in Russia (6.406 units in 2023; -10.7%).

The top five leaders of sales by the end of 2024: KamAZ (23,121; -26.5% to the level of sales in 2023), SITRAK (19,376; -19.2%), Shacman (15,545; -25.6%), FAW (11,680; -26.3%), Dongfeng (9,990; 2.1 times growth).
