Poland's Government Has Passed A Vote Of No Confidence

  • 11.06.2025, 17:57

240 parliamentarians expressed confidence in Tusk's cabinet.

The Polish Sejm has considered the question of confidence in the cabinet of Donald Tusk. The procedure was initiated by the prime minister himself, responding to the victory in the second round of the presidential election of Karol Nawrocki, a candidate supported by the opposition conservative Law and Justice (PiS) party.

After the vote, the government managed to avoid resignation.

A vote of no confidence required the support of a simple majority in the presence of at least half of the statutory number of deputies (there are 460 seats in the Sejm). 240 MPs expressed confidence in Tusk's cabinet, 210 voted "against" and no MPs abstained.
