In Belarus, banks are reducing interest rates on deposits. This applies to deposits in both rubles and foreign currency. Meanwhile, the National Bank predicts further reduction of short-term deposit rates.

How deposit rates are changing

"Bank RRB" reduced the rate on ruble deposit "National with replenishment for 14 months in BYN" by 2 percentage points - up to 7% per annum, writes Myfin.by.

Belarusbank cut rates on ruble deposits. For example, the irrevocable "The Right Choice in BYN" is reduced by 5.5 percentage points (up to 5% per annum with placement for 45 days), while the option for 3 months - by 4.1 percentage points (up to 7.9%). Also, Belarusbank decreased rates on deposits in Russian rubles.

BNB-Bank reduced rates on deposits in the national currency. Thus, the deposit "Irrevocable deposit in BYN (capitalization)" and "Irrevocable deposit in BYN (interest on the account)" decreased by 4 percentage points - to 8% per annum (for the option with a term of 3 months).

"MTBank" also reduced deposit rates. For example, on "MTBelki (irrevocable) with prolongation" - by 0.6 percentage points (up to 7% and 12% per annum for options with terms of 3 and 5 months, respectively).

"Paritetbank" also decreased rates on ruble deposits. For example, on "Irrevocable Online" - by 4.6 percentage points (up to 8% per annum for the option with a term of 3 months), and on "Stable Income" - by 4.5 percentage points (up to 8% per annum for 3 months).

Deposit rates were also reduced by "TK Bank", "Neo Bank Asia". As well as - Alfa-Bank, Belagroprombank, Bank BelVEB, Belinvestbank.

What is the forecast of the National Bank

The regulator expects that the rates on short deposits will gradually decline, said First Deputy Chairman of the National Bank Alexander Egorov.

"As for long deposits, we believe that the current level is acceptable, it provides demand for deposits of national currency from the population, primarily long-term," - said the representative of the National Bank.
