"The Salaries Of These People Are Kept A Closely Guarded Secret."

A Belarusian woman told about Lukashenko's strange "experiment".

While Belarus is waiting for the arrival of labor force from Pakistan, four citizens of Uzbekistan appeared at a small factory in a Belarusian town, writes a reader of the site Charter97.org:

- I don't know whether it's a state experiment or just a coincidence. But the salaries of these people are kept in strict secrecy.

The Uzbeks behave calmly and work like the Belarusians. They appeared here a few months ago. It is hard to say how long they will be able to hold on. The work is hard, the wages are small, at least for the locals.

Another curious story from our village came to my mind. It was before the war. Ukrainians were very fond of Lukashenko. They were infected with propaganda and believed in "order and justice" in our country.

So, two Ukrainian families settled in our village. They believed in our fairy tale and moved to live and work in our town. But they did not last more than three months. After that they said: "How do you live here? For this money you can die, let alone live!" They packed up their belongings, their wives and children, and returned home.

How long the Uzbeks will last is an open question. Whether the Pakistanis will come is a rhetorical question.
