Trump Reacted To Israel's Strikes On Iran

  • 13.06.2025, 8:12

The U.S. Armed Forces Command is on high alert.

Iran cannot have its own nuclear weapons. Washington hopes Tehran will return to negotiations.

This is according to interview with White House chief Donald Trump, quoted by journalist Jennifer Griffin.

According to journalist Brett Baier, who spoke with Trump after the airstrikes began, Washington knew about the strikes in advance, making Israel's attack on Iran no surprise to the United States of America (US). At the same time, the states were not militarily involved in the attack and hope Iran will return to the negotiating table.

"Iran cannot have a nuclear bomb and we hope to return to the negotiating table. We'll see. There are some people in the leadership who will not be coming back (referring to Iranian leaders who, according to media reports, were killed in airstrikes - ed.)," Trump said.

Bayer adds that the White House chief of staff has spoken with Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu several times over the past few days. In particular, the Trump administration has reached out to at least one "key Middle East ally" to see if an attack will actually take place. At the same time, the goal for Washington is to try to bring Iran back to the negotiating table.

The reporter notes that Trump expects retaliation from Iran, which is why the U.S. Central Command of the Armed Forces (CENTCOM) is now on high alert.

Bayer revealed that the states have restocked Iron Dome missiles in recent weeks. In particular, U.S. officials confirm that a number of top Iranian leaders have been killed after airstrikes.

On the night of June 13, as part of Operation Lion Nation, Israel launched airstrikes on Iranian territory. The shelling attacked Iranian nuclear and military facilities in Tehran and several other cities.
