Fuel And Transportation Become Cheaper In Poland

  • 14.06.2025, 13:10

Inflation in the country is slowing down.

In May, inflation in Poland amounted to 4%, having decreased by 0.3% compared to April. Experts note a slowdown in price growth due to cheaper transportation and fuel, but in the services sector - especially hotels and utilities - prices continue to rise. The cost of fuel has also been affected by tensions in the Middle East, reports Polskie Radio.

Price growth for goods and services in Poland is slowing. In May, inflation amounted to 4%, and this is 0.3% less than in April, according to the latest data from the Polish General Statistical Office.

Analyst and manager of Polaris FIZ Dawid Czopek notes that price increases are mainly observed in the service sector. A positive decrease is seen in transportation:

"Services related to, for example, hotels, gastronomy, as well as housing use and energy prices have become more expensive. As for what has fallen in price the most, it is primarily goods and services related to transportation. We are seeing the lowest fuel prices in many months and this is having an impact on the inflation rate."

The expert also notes that Israel's attacks on Iran have had an impact on financial markets and the rise in oil prices. At the moment, the five percent increase in oil prices has led to an increase in prices at gas stations in Poland by about twenty groschen per liter.
