Belarusian Woman Became A Medalist Of Prestigious Athletics Competitions

Belarusian high jumper Maria Zodik, who competes for Poland, took third place in the prestigious Diamond League competition in Stockholm on Sunday, Radio Svaboda reported.
Maria Zhodik took the bar at 1.93 meters, behind Australia's Nikola Olislagers (2.01) and Ukraine's Olympic champion Yaroslava Maguchikh (1.99).
This is 28-year-old Maria Zhodik's first medal in an extra-class competition.
Zhodik is from Baranovichi. In 2020, she signed an open letter from athletes that condemned election fraud in Belarus, as well as violence by security forces. The athlete also condemned Russia's war against Ukraine.
The Belarusian trains at the Podlasie Białystok club in Bialystok. She received a Polish passport and last year competed (unsuccessfully) at the Olympics in Paris.
