Trump Assured Macron Of Readiness To Take Action Against Russia

The ability of the Russian economy to resist will be called into question.

President of the United States of America (USA) Donald Trump has assured that Washington is allegedly ready to "take action" against the Russian Federation (RF).

This is reported by Politico citing French President Emmanuel Macron.

Macron said he still believes in US support for tougher sanctions against Russia.

While speaking to reporters on the sidelines of the G7 (G7) summit, the French leader said he discussed further sanctions against Russia with Trump and the latter assured him that Washington was ready to "take action."

"He answered quite positively," Macron said and added that Trump had told him that he would not yet obstruct the new US sanctions being proposed by Republican lawmakers.

The French president noted that if the EU and the US jointly impose sanctions in the coming weeks - the situation could change as "the Russian economy's ability to resist will be called into question."
