Iran Has Launched A New Wave Of Strikes On Israel

A new wave of Iranian missile and drone strikes on Israel has begun, Tasnim news agency reported.

"A new wave of drone and missile attacks by the IRGC (Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps) Air and Space Forces began a few minutes ago," the report said.

The new wave of strikes was also reported by the IRGC's Telegram channel. The report noted that the missiles were launched from various points on Iranian territory.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said that the Israeli Air Force is intercepting missiles launched by Iran.

"A few minutes ago, sirens sounded in a number of areas in Israel after detecting missiles launched by Iran towards Israel. The Israeli Air Force is currently intercepting and conducting strikes as necessary to eliminate the threat," the report said.

The IRGC said earlier on June 17 that a new wave of powerful attacks on Israel using advanced weapons "will intensify in the coming hours."

In the morning, the Iranian military allegedly launched a missile strike on the headquarters of Israel's Mossad intelligence agency. Tehran later said the attack killed senior officers and commanders of the intelligence agency. Israeli authorities have not yet commented on the claims of military deaths.

An adviser to Israel's Prime Minister's Office Dmitri Gendelman said earlier that about 400 rockets and hundreds of drones had been fired at Israel since the conflict began.

In Israel, 24 civilians have been killed and 592 wounded in four days of military conflict with Iran, Gendelman said. Iran claims more than 220 dead and more than 1,800 injured.
