Iran's former ruler was assassinated on a street in Tehran.
Arab media reported Tuesday, June 17, that Israel has eliminated former Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad in Tehran.
Ahmadinejad's elimination was also reported by Israel's Channel 9, citing sources in Iran.
According to other information, the former politician was killed in a shooting in the street.
Ahmadinejad was often criticized internationally during his presidency, particularly for his aggressive anti-Semitic remarks.
Ahmadinejad served two four-year terms as president, from 2005 to 2013. His controversial re-election in 2009 triggered mass protests in the country, during which dozens of people were killed and thousands detained. Iran's former president is scandalously known for, among other things, questioning the Holocaust, calling the September 11 attacks a fabrication and promising to destroy Israel.
While serving as president, Ahmadinejad traveled to Belarus, where he met with Alexander Lukashenko. The rulers have repeatedly declared "friendship" and pledged mutual support for each other on the international stage.
Ahmadinejad and Lukashenko were also together at the funeral of Venezuelan dictator Ugo Chavez in 2013.
