Putin: All Ukraine Is Ours

The Russian dictator made a number of cynical statements at an economic forum in St. Petersburg.

Despite the almost daily bombardment of Ukrainian cities that continues, killing and injuring dozens of civilians, Russian dictator Vladimir Putin considers Russians and Ukrainians one people. "I have already said that I consider the Russian and Ukrainian people to be one people. In this sense, the whole of Ukraine is ours," he said during a speech at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF).

Putin also reported on the alleged ancient rule that he believes that what is captured by the Russian army becomes Moscow's property: "You know, we have an ancient rule: wherever a Russian soldier's foot treads, it is ours."

At the same time, the dictator developed his thought, the Kremlin has no desire to get Kiev to capitulate - Russia insists on "Ukraine's recognition of the realities that have developed on the ground." This is how he commented on the claims of the SPIEF session host that Russia's position on Ukraine is similar to President Donald Trump's demand for Iran's surrender in the context of its nuclear weapons program.

In addition, Putin said he did not rule out further seizure of Ukrainian Sumy by the Russian army. "We don't have such a task - to take Sumy. But, in principle, I do not rule it out, but I noted that there is no such task now," he said, adding that units of the Russian Armed Forces allegedly continue their offensive in Ukraine "in all directions."

This, however, did not prevent the dictator from saying that Russia had repeatedly offered Ukraine at every stage of the "SWO" to agree to suspend hostilities. "We said: 'Let's better negotiate now, because the logic of the development of military operations may lead to the fact that your situation will worsen, and then we will have to negotiate with you from other, worse for you positions.'" This has happened several times," he noted and said that there were "witnesses" to this, referring to foreign politicians.
