Journalists revealed the details of the strategic document of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Germany.

In an internal strategic document, the German Armed Forces warn of the danger from Russia to both Germany and Europe as a whole.

This is according to a publication in the print version of Spiegel magazine, reports DPA.

The Bundeswehr's policy document, according to Spiegel, was developed over a year and a half by security specialists and experts. It should serve as a conceptual basis for the future course of the Bundeswehr.

It notes, in particular, that Russia is purposefully orienting its entire state and economic structure for a possible major conflict with NATO, Spiegel writes.

According to the Bundeswehr document, which is cited by the publication, the modernization of the Russian armed forces is advancing rapidly and in 2026 they may number 1.5 million soldiers.

The German military considers Russia an "existential threat" as the Kremlin is mobilizing industry and power "specifically to be ready for a large-scale conflict with NATO by the end of this decade," Reuters quoted Reuters as saying.

The authors of the document recommend significantly expanding both Germany's military capabilities and civilian structures for the defense of the country and the Alliance, Spiegel wrote.
