US Strikes On Iran: Column Of Smoke Rises Over Fordow Nuclear Center

The aftermath of the attack was shown in the video.

Iran's state-run IRNA news agency has published footage of a column of smoke above the stricken Fordow nuclear facility.

The clip appeared online hours after the US launched a series of strikes on Iran's nuclear facilities. The Fordow Center is the "jewel" of Iran's nuclear program. It was secretly started to be built in a mountain and began to be used in 2012.

Engineers assumed the location was secure because the facility is hidden underground. Israel did not have weapons capable of hitting Fordow. However, the US did with the GBU-57 Massive Ordnance Penetrator superbomb, known as the "bunker destroyer," writes UNIAN.

The voice-over reports that smoke is coming from the nuclear site. The site is geolocated as Fordow. The video was shot on the Tehran-Kom highway, about 13 kilometers west of the site.

A highly placed Iranian source told Reuters that most of the highly enriched uranium from Fordow "was taken to an unknown location" even before the U.S. attack.
