Iranian Opposition Activist Called For The Overthrow Of Khamenei's Regime

Maryam Rajavi said that the way to peace is a change of power in Iran.

Paris-based Iranian opposition activist Maryam Rajavi has called on the nation to topple the regime of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.

Rajavi, who serves as president-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), spoke a day after the last heir to the Iranian monarchy called on Western nations to recognize the need for "regime change" as a condition for sustainable peace and stability in the region, "Details".

She made her statement before Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz announced an order to strike Tehran in response to Iran's violation of the truce. "The proposal for a ceasefire and an end to the war is a step forward for the third way: neither war nor appeasement," Rajavi said, commenting on US President Donald Trump's announcement of a truce between Iran and Israel.

"Let the people of Iran themselves, in a battle of destiny, overthrow Khamenei and the dictatorship," she added.

Rajavi emphasized that the NISS seeks to establish a democratic, nuclear-free republic with separation of religion and state, equal rights for men and women and autonomy for Iran's national minorities.
