US President Donald Trump praised the NATO summit held the previous day, calling it "one of the most cohesive and productive in history." He wrote about it in Truth Social.

He highlighted the agreed commitment of the alliance members to increase defense spending to 5% of GDP, stressing that this "gives NATO real strength." According to Trump, the summit was "excellent" and was "a great day with incredible and responsible leaders."

Earlier, on June 25, at the end of the summit in The Hague, NATO countries agreed to increase defense spending to 5% of GDP by 2035. According to the final communiqué, such a decision was taken due to "fundamental threats to security, in particular the long-term threat from Russia," as well as the threat of terrorism.
