Vilnius Mayor Shows How River Streetcars Will Look Like

Vilnius will very soon have a new public transportation - electric river streetcars. The first ones will start running along the Neris River in July.
Mayor Valdas Bencunskas told how they will look like and what the cost will be, writes delfi.lt citing madeinvilnius.lt.
"We share the first information about the river streetcars on the Neris. Rytas ('Morning') and Salmon (Lašiša) will be the first to start in July, later Iron Wolf (Geležinis vilkas) and Polevica (Smilga) will appear," wrote Mayor Valdas Bencunskas.
What will the streetcars be like?
32 seating places, there will be places for bicycles. The streetcar can carry the disabled - there are separate seats for them. As in buses and trolleybuses there will be free WiFi and information boards.
Vilnius citizens have chosen names for the water transport that will run along the Neris River The mayor told how to buy tickets. Tickets will be sold: JUDU, with Vilniečio card, in mTicket and Trafi applications and on board (cashless payment).
Tickets are valid for 90 minutes. If you buy the ticket in advance, its price will be 3 euros, if you buy it on the spot, it will be 1 euro more expensive - 4 euros.
