Iran will be able to return to the production of enriched uranium despite damage to nuclear facilities by US strikes, Grossi believes.
The director general of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Raphael Grossi, has suggested that Iran will be able to return to the production of enriched uranium despite damage to nuclear facilities by US strikes. He said this in an interview with CBS News.
He said Iran has the capacity, and if it wishes, can take up uranium enrichment again.
"They can have in a matter of months, I would say, a few cascades of centrifuges spinning and producing enriched uranium, or less. But frankly, you can't say that it's all gone and there's nothing there," Grossi said.
He recalled that "Iran had a very ambitious program on a very large scale" and, in his opinion, "some of it may still be there," and since Iran is "a very advanced country in terms of nuclear technology," the possibility cannot be ruled out.
