Orlen Will Stop Supplying Russian Oil To The Czech Republic

The contract of the Polish oil and gas concern Orlen with Rosneft has expired.

The contract for the supply of oil from Russia to the oil refinery in the Czech Republic's Litvinov expired on June 30, 2025, the CEO of the Polish oil and gas concern Ireneusz Fonfara said, according to Gazeta Wyborcza.

According to him, Orlen stopped supplying Russian oil to the refinery in the Czech Republic back in March. However, the contract with Rosneft for transportation of raw materials to Litvinov, signed 12 years ago, expires only at the end of June. Fonfara called it a "closed chapter."

"We have finalized the last historic contract for crude oil supplies from Russia to the Czech Republic. This means that as of July 1, 2025, Orlen Group, and thus the entire region, will be free of Russian oil. We have closed this chapter and together we are building a secure future for the region," he said.

Fonfara said Orlen has two refineries in the Czech Republic: in Litvinov with an annual refining capacity of 5.4 million tons of crude oil and in Kralupy nad Vltavou with a capacity of 3.3 million tons. However, Russian oil was processed only in Litvinov.

Now, the head of Orlen noted, oil to the refinery in this city will come from the south via the transalpine pipeline TAL.

Fonfara added that the concern has prepared the Litvinov refinery for processing other types of oil besides Russian oil, including tests of various blends of feedstock. Today Czech refineries are supplied with oil from Saudi Arabia, North and South America and Africa, among others.
