Zelensky: Germany Now Supports Ukraine's Accession To NATO

The Ukrainian president spoke about Berlin's new position voiced at the Alliance summit.

Germany has changed its position and now supports Ukraine's future accession to NATO, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky said. He made this statement before a meeting with German Foreign Minister Johann Wadeful in Kiev, Ukrainform reports.

"This is a very important moment, in addition to the future in the European Union. I would like to thank you personally today for the signal that has not been heard from Germany for a very long time, maybe even never," the Ukrainian president said.

During the summit in The Hague, at a meeting of NATO and Ukrainian foreign ministers, the German side said that, in its opinion, Ukraine should be in the Alliance - and it is in the interest of the security of all of Europe, Zelensky said.
