Former Political Prisoner Alexander Klaskovsky Died

Alexander Klaskovsky, who was sentenced to five years in prison after a protest against the falsification of the 2010 presidential election results, has died. This was told in Facebook by his sister Olga.

"That's all. I don't have a bigger brother. Sasha has been dead for 46 years," wrote Olga Klaskovskaya.

In the comments she explained that, tentatively, her brother died because of a heart problem. The exact cause of death will be established by an expert examination.

Alexander Klaskovski, who served in the police until 2005, took part in a protest against the falsification of the election results on December 19, 2010, reports the Human Rights Center "Viasna". He was detained on the night of December 21, 2010 at his home. He was accused of organizing mass riots and participation in them.

May 26, 2011, Judge of Leninski district of Minsk Ludmila Gracheva sentenced him to 5 years in a strict regime colony.

Alexandr served his sentence in Shklou colony № 17 and was released on pardon.
