Musk Claimed That Without Him, Trump Would Have Lost The Election

The relationship between the businessman and the president of the United States is worsening.

Entrepreneur Ilon Musk said that US President Donald Trump would not have won the election of the head of state if not for his help. He wrote about this on his page in social network X.

"Without me, Trump would have lost the election, the Democrats would control the House of Representatives, and the Republicans would have 51-49 in the Senate," he wrote.

The relationship between Trump and Musk worsened after the latter left public service at the end of May. The occasion, in particular, was the "big and beautiful" bill providing tax breaks. Musk criticized the document, saying it would increase the budget deficit and burden American families.

Trump, in turn, suggested that Musk criticize him, not the bill. Musk then bombarded the Republican with criticism.

Trump won the November 2024 presidential election. That's when the Republican Party gained control of both houses of the U.S. Congress. Musk was one of Trump's biggest campaign donors and later joined his administration as a supervisor of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), which aimed to cut government spending.
