An Oil Refinery On Fire In Russia's Nizhny Novgorod Region

On Saturday, June 7, a large-scale fire broke out in the town of Kstovo in Russia's Nizhny Novgorod region. One of the oil refineries is located there, writes New Voice.

Video of the blaze appeared in Russian blogs. The footage shows a dense column of fire and smoke rising into the sky and covering part of the facility.

Witnesses report a UAV attack on the Lukoil oil refinery. At the same time, Russia's Emergency Situations Ministry says a 200 cubic meter bitumen plant has caught fire.

"A fire broke out at an industrial bitumen production facility in the Kstovo district today afternoon," the regional prosecutor's office said in a statement.

According to the agency, city prosecutor Oleg Kuptsov went to the scene.

The oil refinery in Kstovo belongs to Lukoil and processes oil from Western Siberia and Tatarstan.
