Already now in Russia many social programs are not implemented, and it is the local budgets that have claims because of this. This was said by the chairman of the Committee of Economists of Ukraine Andrey Novak during a chat on "Glavreda".

According to him, sooner or later (more likely, sooner) there will be a collapse of the Russian ruble. Novak noted that now the ruble exchange rate is kept artificially to curb inflation, but this cannot be done indefinitely, especially given the fact that the reserve fund is being depleted. Therefore, there will be nothing to support the ruble exchange rate.

"In addition, because of the high discount rate, very high credit rates remain, and because of this, one after another Russian enterprises stop working. Even in the military-industrial complex. Because it is neither profitable nor necessary to take loans at 30% - it is cheaper to close down the enterprise, disband everyone and keep the money on deposit in banks. In other words, entrepreneurial and industrial activity is inefficient and meaningless at such high interest rates," says the economist.

He noted that the Russian economy is facing more and more problems from all sides, and even Russian officials are already voicing it.

"That is, even they can no longer hide what has been kept quiet for a long time, but the population was convinced that everything is fine, import substitution is working, and sanctions are only helping Russia. We can see how sanctions "help" Russia by the current deplorable state of the Russian economy," Novak concluded.
