A New Spat Between Trump And Musk Has Begun

The US president suggested that the billionaire "shut up shop" and "go back to South Africa".

US President Donald Trump has advised American entrepreneur Ilon Musk to "go home to South Africa" amid the businessman's criticism of the head of state's tax bill. The American leader said this on the social media network Truth Social.

"Elon is probably getting more subsidies than anyone in history, by a huge margin, and without those subsidies he would probably have to wind down his business and go home to South Africa," he said.

Musk wrote in response to the post, "I'm literally saying cut everything. Right now."

Trump said in a June 29 interview with Fox News that he treats Musk well despite the conflict.

He added that "smart guy" Musk campaigned with him but was "a little upset." In the leader's view, it was inappropriate. Trump linked the entrepreneur's displeasure to the fact that the authorities did not promote the spread in the United States of electric-powered cars produced by Musk's company Tesla.
