Russia has claimed an alleged drone attack on the city of Izhevsk. Explosions were heard near the Kupol electromechanical plant, where the Russians produce Tor SAMs and radars.

This was reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to the Russian resource Astra and the head of the Ukrainian Center for Countering Disinformation of the National Security and Defense Council Andrei Kovalenko.

Today, in the city of Izhevsk, several loud explosions were heard. After that, the locals reported a heavy fire. In the network appeared footage with the alleged arrival of one of the drones.

Russian sources claim that one of the enterprises located in the city was attacked. In particular, eyewitnesses point to the area where the Izhevsk Electromechanical Plant Kupol, a company that produces Tor anti-aircraft missile systems and radars for the Russian army, is located.

It was also reported that Rosaviatsia temporarily restricted the receipt and dispatch of flights at Izhevsk airport.

The fact of the explosions was also confirmed by the head of the Center for Countering Disinformation under the National Security and Defense Council Andrei Kovalenko.

"There are explosions in the Russian city of Izhevsk. There is, for example, the Izhevsk Electromechanical Plant Kupol - it is one of the main producers of Tor SAMs and Harpy-A1 strike UAVs for the Russian army," he wrote.

Official Russian authorities have not yet commented on the incident. The governor of Udmurtia only said that "all operational services are working on the spot" and promised to provide additional information later.
