Russia's Kupol Was Attacked By Unusual Drones

Ukrainian attack drones "Lyutii" attacked the plant "Kupol" in the Russian city of Izhevsk. Judging by the video footage, the AFU drones had an unusual design.

This is reported by Defense Express.

The Ukrainian drones that carried out this long-range attack reportedly had no landing gear.

But previously, for the Lyutiy, it was the airplane takeoff that was the only known type of launch. On the one hand, this allowed it to be launched without additional equipment - without a catapult or booster.

On the other hand, it required a rather unconventional organization of the launch with the drone escort during takeoff. Obviously, to control the operator with the help of radio control of the drone's run-up, lift-off and climb.

By removing the system of fixed supports of the aircraft, the engineers got less aerodynamic drag and, consequently, a greater range of flight. The absence of landing gear also had a positive effect on the radar visibility.
