Kellogg: Ukraine Needs Its Own Marshall Plan

International partners must help rebuild after the war.

International partners should help Ukraine with its recovery by developing a "Marshall Plan" for it.

The US special envoy for Ukraine Keith Kellogg said this, Ukrinform reported. In this regard, he cited the example of how the United States introduced the Marshall Plan for Europe after World War II.

"We should do the same for Ukraine," Kellogg said and warned that it would be very difficult.

First of all, in his opinion, a ceasefire should be reached. "It's hard for me as a former soldier to understand the level of violence that you're seeing in Ukraine right now ... When you lose over a million soldiers, it's murder on an industrial scale," he said.

Kellogg noted that Ukraine agreed to the ceasefire, but it was a unilateral agreement.

In addition, Kellogg emphasized the need to return to the homeland children who were illegally taken to Russia.

The U.S. presidential spokesman emphasized the topic of returning Ukrainian children. He noted that this topic is especially important for US President Donald Trump. Kellogg said that Trump insisted in conversations with his Ukrainian counterpart Vladimir Zelensky that it should be one of the points of negotiations with the Russians and the latter agreed.
