It's probably a homemade airplane.
On Thursday, it was reported that a Shahed drone allegedly flew into Lithuania from Belarus, but border guards clarified that it was something "resembling a homemade airplane-like flying vehicle," LRT reported.
At around 11:30 a.m., border guards at the Kena outpost in Vilnius district recorded, according to preliminary data, an aircraft resembling a homemade airplane flying from Belarus and falling to the ground, the State Border Guard Service (VSAT) reported.
The aircraft fell near the closed checkpoint Shumskas, about a kilometer from the border with Belarus.
Preliminary data suggests that it is made of plywood and foam plastic.
There is no information that the aircraft was carrying any cargo. The object does not pose any danger. Recently, VSAT has often recorded cases when drones, balloons, and homemade aircraft try to transport smuggled cigarettes from the territory of Belarus to Lithuania.
Border guards informed the Air Force, the institution responsible for airspace control, about the incident.
