A Tax Innovation Has Been Introduced For Belarusians

In Belarus, the amount of penalties for late or incomplete payment of taxes has been changed. June 25, it was raised. This is reported by the tax authorities.

"Since June 25, if the payer fulfills the tax obligation at a later date compared to the term established by the tax legislation, penalties at the rate of 0.0271% of the unpaid amount of tax, fee, duty are charged for each calendar day of delay in payment," warned the inspection of the Ministry of Taxes and Levies in Homel voblast. Previously, this penalty was 0.0264% - it has not been changed since June 28, 2023.

The reason for this innovation is the decision of the National Bank to raise the refinancing rate from 9.5% to 9.75% per annum from June 25.

Reminder, the tax authorities can charge penalties for non-payment (or incomplete) of property taxes.
