Four Belarusian defense companies, banks and transit of goods through Belarus have fallen under the 18th package of the European Union sanctions, reports "Radio Svaboda".

According to the publication, four Belarusian defense companies have fallen under the new restrictions, including the Orsha plant Legmash, which makes parts for Grad shells and works for Russia. The company is already under the sanctions of the United States, Canada, Great Britain and New Zealand.

The list of goods that can be used for military purposes has also been expanded, including cars, metals, plastics and chemicals.

A ban on the transit of some goods through the territory of Belarus has also been introduced.

"Radio Svaboda" writes that the new package of sanctions also "completely prohibits financial transactions with Belarusian banks," which had been previously disconnected from SWIFT.

We recall that July 18, the EU agreed on the 18th package of sanctions against Russia and Belarus - all 27 member-states voted in favor.
