GUR Hackers Have Dealt A Serious Blow To Gazprom

Yesterday, July 17, the cyber corps of the Main Intelligence Directorate (GUR) attacked the network infrastructure of Gazprom, which is involved in ensuring the armed aggression of the Russian Federation (RF) against Ukraine.

Sources told RBC-Ukraine in the Defense Ministry's GUR.

The cyberattack caused serious damage to Gazprom's network infrastructure, in particular destroyed a large volume of databases and installed special software.

During the operation, about 20 thousand system administrators were:

disabled access to Gazprom's information system;

installed software on the company's servers, which will continue to destroy Gazprom's data.

In addition, were destroyed:

backup copies of data from Gazprom's information system;

databases of about 390 Gazprom subsidiaries and its branches, including Gazprom Teplo Energo, Gazprom Obl Energo, Gazprom Energosbyt and hundreds of others;

data of 1C server clusters (10 servers of extremely high capacity) together with all files (contracts, orders, instructions) of Gazprom and its subsidiaries;

data of auxiliary systems (data protection, server control, administration and many others);

databases of analytics systems of pipelines, valves, sensors, pumps and others. Deleted servers with analytics of SCADA systems responsible for technical infrastructure management;

operating systems on available servers and damaged BIOS (servers do not turn on and require physical intervention to restore operation).
