Israel has agreed to a 60-day ceasefire in the Gaza Strip. During this period, there is a chance to achieve an end to the war in the Middle East.

U.S. President Donald Trump said this in a Truth Social.

In his posting, the White House chief noted that his representatives on Tuesday, July 1, "had a long and productive meeting with the Israelis about the situation in the Gaza Strip."

"Israel agreed to the necessary conditions for a 60-day ceasefire, during which we will work with all sides to end the war," Trump said.

The president also hopes that Qatar and Egypt, "who have worked hard for peace," will convey the final peace proposal to the Palestinian group's leaders.

"I hope, for the good of the Middle East, that Hamas accepts this agreement, because it's not going to get better - it's only going to get worse. Thank you for your attention to this issue!", the American leader concluded.
