Reuters: The EU Has Issued A Stern Warning To China

The European Union has warned China of the consequences from supporting Russia's war in Ukraine. As Reuters writes, the head of the European Union's diplomatic service Kaya Kallas said this in a conversation with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi in Brussels.

It is noted that Kallas "emphasized the serious threat that Chinese companies' support for Russia's illegal war poses to European security."

She also called on China to "immediately cease all material support that supports Russia's military-industrial complex" and to support a "complete and unconditional ceasefire" and a "just and lasting peace in Ukraine."

China says it is not providing military support to Russia in the war in Ukraine. However, European officials say Chinese companies are supplying many critical components for Russian drones and other weapons in Ukraine.

EU officials also said they would use the meeting between Kallas and Wang Yi to urge China to use its influence as a major buyer of Iranian oil and to pressure Tehran to reach a nuclear deal and de-escalate the conflict in the Middle East.
