Another Belarusian bank - MTBank - announced the closure of USSD-banking. In a month, customers of this financial institution will not be able to check the card balance, clarify the balance of the loan payment or block the lost card with the help of a short USSD-request. "Telegraf" found out what alternative was offered to customers.

The press service of MTBank reported that USSD-requests will stop working next month - August 1, 2025. But customers will not be left without operational support for ordinary operations that do not require a visit to the bank's office - all the functions of USSD-banking were promised to be transferred to the branded application of the financial institution.

So, to check the card balance, block or unblock the card and perform other actions with the card and account, which previously could be done through USSD-requests, from August 1 will be possible through:

application of mobile bank Moby,

internet-banking "My Bank",

call to the contact center.

MTBank is not the only financial institution operating in Belarus that has abandoned USSD-requests while promoting branded mobile apps: in 2018, BPS-Sberbank abandoned them, and Belarusbank also switched its customers to Internet banking, M-Banking and SMS-banking.
