Trump Responded When He Will Start Sending Out Letters To Countries With New Duties

The President of the United States plans to send about 10-12 letters a day.

US President Donald Trump said that as early as today Washington may send letters to countries that have not concluded a trade agreement with the United States, indicating the size of the duty. This is reported by The Washington Times.

Talking to reporters before boarding Air Force One, Trump said Thursday that there are "a few other agreements" the administration is considering, but everyone else will get letters starting "probably tomorrow."

"I'm leaning toward sending a letter and saying what duty they're going to pay. It's a lot easier. We have over 170 countries, and how many agreements can you make?" said Donald Trump.

He added that they plan to send about 10-12 letters a day. Countries will have to start paying from the first of August.

"I think by the ninth, they will be fully secured," Trump said, referring to the July ninth deadline.

This deadline was set for countries to reach agreements with the United States.

"They will range from maybe 60 or 70 percent duties to 10 and 20 percent duties," the President of the United States added.
