A group of migrants on the Belarusian-Lithuanian border threw stones at border guards. This happened after a failed storming of the border on the evening of Thursday, July 3.

The incident was recorded in Lazdy district, where the border between Lithuania and Belarus runs along the Mara River, reports Delfi. Lithuania has a physical barrier-four-meter fence with barbed wire on top. This is how Lithuanians protect themselves from illegal entry.

From the side of Belarus, a group of 14 migrants came to the border with an extension ladder. All the migrants were men of 20-40 years old, physically healthy and strong. They tried to sneak over the border fence. Border guards spotted them with the help of video cameras and immediately went to the scene. Upon seeing the border guards, the migrants fled into the interior of Belarus, throwing a ladder, which was later taken away by the border guards.

A frustrated by their failure, the migrants walked along the border and came to an open place near the river. There they threw stones at border guards and their vehicles. One stone damaged the left front fender of a Toyota Land Cruiser SUV. The border guards were not injured.

This is not the first case when illegals throw stones and sticks at border guards. Quite often such cases also occur when border crossers come into contact with Polish border guards.
