German Chancellor Friedrich Merz believes that Russian Federation's brutal strikes on Ukraine and US President Donald Trump's conversations with Russian dictator Putin may be linked.

- German government spokesman Stephan Cornelius said this, RBC-Ukraine citing Tagesschau.

- The chancellor has repeatedly said that Putin has a certain pattern and that phone calls are usually accompanied by even more violent attacks," Cornelius said.

He added that the latest overnight attack in Ukraine confirms such speculation. The firings after phone conversations between the Russian dictator and the US president "speak for themselves."
