About 100 People Were Detained For Advertising Pacifier Supplements

Tens of thousands of Belarusians became victims of fraudsters.

About a hundred people were detained in Belarus for advertising pacifier supplements. The group was led by a Russian citizen, previously convicted for violation of anti-drug legislation in the territory of the Russian Federation.

The detainees sold "drugs from Altai", which were registered as food products or biologically active supplements. In order for the goods to sell well, they actively advertised them in newspapers, held presentations and created one-day websites. Sometimes the "preparations" sold to Belarusians did not even contain the promised "concentrate of Altai red deer antlers", which is allegedly used in traditional medicine in Altai - it was replaced by starch.

Call centers, through which sales were conducted, were simultaneously checked in Minsk, Baranavichy, Barysau and Babruisk. The "cheat sheets" of the call center operators contained hints on what to say if a potential client said that he would "think about it" or admitted that he had no money.
