Trump Confirms US May Transfer Patriot System To Ukraine

The American president said the White House would "consider" the request.

US President Donald Trump commented on the information that the US authorities are considering the delivery of an additional Patriot air defense system to Ukraine and said the White House would "consider" the request.

Trump made the statement in the evening of July 9.

"They [Ukrainian authorities - ed.] would like to receive it, they have asked for it. They [Patriot systems - ed.] are very rare... We will consider [Kiev's request - ed.]. It's a very expensive system, it's a shame we have to spend so much on a war that wouldn't be happening if I were president," he said.

President Trump noted that Ukrainians are being hit "very hard" by Russian occupiers.

"Extremely complex system, incredible cost, and they're doing it [asking for Patriot - ed.] because they want to avoid deaths. They are being hit very hard. So we are considering it," the American head of state summarized.
